Upcoming Course Dates, Locations & Details

Training hours are specific to location and program type.  Class observation and practice teaching is required for those wishing to pursue the full certification for accreditation with Yoga Alliance, and is in addition to the dates below, to be pursued at your convenience, and to be concluded within three months of the last training date.  Please pack a vegetarian lunch, snacks, and beverages for refreshment during each training session.

Weekly training sessions envelop you in the classical tradition with daytime convenience!  Allow this to be your oasis for dedicated practice and supportive community.   Gain deep understanding of yourself and the yoga tradition, while developing your skills as a teacher.

Our three- and six-month programs accelerate your learning as an experienced practitioner, yet give you the space, time and personal attention you need to integrate your knowledge and put it into practice, in the midst of your busy schedule.

 

Our Fast Track program for experienced yogis allows you to complete Teacher Training quickly and efficiently.

Immersion Training Experience

As a part of your training, or as an intensive immersion, enjoy a retreat to truly embrace and embody your practice!  Experience a complete yogi lifestyle first-hand in a fun and intensive practice environment, along with plenty of relaxation  and fun with your fellow trainees.

Overnight accommodations will be available on site for an additional cost at your option as a part of local training programs, and be within a 1 1/2-hour drive of the primary training site.

We also offer a Modular Flexible Day Training option for Teacher Training, In-Depth Personal Studies and CEUs!

Half Day | 9:00AM - 1:00PM includes complete Hatha Yoga & Meditation practice, lecture, class discussion, and more to expand your practice and your spirit. $75

Full Day | 9:00 AM - 4:30PM includes the entire morning as described above, in addition to a deeper dive during the afternoon. Explore longer, deeper meditations and other practices, additional lecture and discussion, interactive partner and small group activities, and more! $140

Special dedicated practice events are also available to day students, at the rate provided for that event. ** Please note hours and other details for special practice events on the workshop schedule.

Reservations are recommended, to ensure availability and materials.

Please note, Modular Day Training option is available to Teacher Training candidates for the rates above plus an additional Practicum fee.  All sessions and requirements of the training must be completed for certification.  Personal study and/or CEU students will not qualify for certification unless enrolled in and participating in the complete 200-hour program.

 

 

Classical Hatha Program Lead Trainers:

SAMADHI BANKS

'Samadhi' Donna Witters Banks, E-RYT 500, RCYT, YACEP, IKYTA is the founder of Studio Samadhi, with trainings in the Dallas - Ft. Worth, Texas area, Chicago, Illinois suburbs, and destination retreats.

She has been dedicated to yoga and meditation for nearly 20 years, with well over 3000 hours of teaching experience, in addition to over 10 years teaching other forms of fitness and wellness, and instituting corporate wellness programs.  Her personal practice and dynamic teaching style are rooted in her study of Kundalini and Ashtanga yoga, as well as the meditation techniques of Buddhism and the Raj Yoga tradition of Brahma Kumaris.

Samadhi's training, teaching, and mentoring work focuses on the transformational benefits of both Hatha and Kundalini yoga techniques for mind, body, and spirit. In addition to her 200- and 500-hour certifications in Hatha Yoga, she is a Kundalini Research Institute (KRI) certified Instructor of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan, and has studied with teachers of other paths of the Kundalini Tantra as well.  Her primary teaching specialties are Classical Ashtanga Yoga and Kundalini, and she also enjoys teaching Vinyasa Flow, Yin, and Viniyoga-inspired classes.

In addition to her work with adults, she is a Radiant Child (RCYP) Level III children’s Kundalini yoga teacher, and offers the The Indigo Project Children's Yoga Specialty Teacher Training for the RCYT designation.

As a Reiki Master Teacher, she also teaches energy work and has a passion for our natural potential for health and well-being, regularly mentoring others.  Her integrated approach to energetic awareness and holistic wellness has been effective and inspiring for students in her group classes, Teacher Training, In-Depth Personal Yoga Studies program, and private sessions, and in her own recovery from colon cancer. She also uses her lifelong background as an artist and passion for decorating to co-create calming, serene interior spaces for her private clients.

Samadhi embraces yoga as a lifetime journey of self-discovery, consciousness, and evolution.

JACE MAXWELL

Jace Maxwell, E-RYT 200, RYT 500, YACEP, is the owner and Managing Partner of the Roanoke location of Studio Samadhi, and is well-loved there for her bright energy and compassionate spirit.

Throughout her childhood and teenage years, Jace struggled with her weight, depression, and body image issues. Jace was in college when she discovered yoga.

Her initial focus was on meditation and the more spiritual aspects of this tradition.  Learning the history of yoga and the mythology that is deeply interwoven pushed her to dive deeper into all aspects of Yoga. In an effort to deepen her meditation practice, she started a daily asana (physical yoga) routine with a few girlfriends. After a few months of regular practice, she knew she had found the missing piece to finding her inner happiness.

As Jace continued a regular asana practice, she realized that she wasn’t just healing herself on the inside.  Over time, she worked her way to a healthy weight. At that point, she realized by learning how to love herself, she had finally stopped worrying about her body image and found a healthy path to a healthy mind and body.

Jace is a Reiki Master and teacher, as well.  She has her 200 and 300 hour certification in Hatha Yoga and has taught over 1300 hours of yoga classes. She is continually inspired by yoga’s transformative power—both internally and externally, and finds it to be a source of love and strength. She strives to bring a sense of fun, freedom and kindness to her classes, and hopes to impart nuggets of yogic wisdom along the way.
